This unpublished novel of Vladimir Nabokov has spent 30 years in a safe. Nabokov wrote this work in 138 Penguin wants to play cards with a text transcript on the opposite page.
Nabokov made famous by Lolita left instructions that his last work was destroyed after his death. But the Russian author's wishes were not met and his son and executor of his work, Dimitri, decided last year to publish it. As reported by BBC , Nabokov's heirs have received more than a million dollars for the work that eventually will be released on November 3.
The novel tells the story of a man obsessed with his promiscuous wife and reviews the history of this obsession since they met when they were young. The director of Penguin, said that the novel is dark and comic, and explores the meaning of "what is hate yourself and want to disappear."
The publisher also announced that in 2010 Penguin published a collection of Nabokov's poems have never so far been translated into English, and a year later he made with some unpublished letters that were sent the writer and his wife.
